High School Students Win $5,000 Scholarship
Three South Carolina high school students won $5,000 each in an audio podcast scholarship competition sponsored by South Carolina’s electric cooperatives.

Mid-Carolina Donates $23,000 to Charity
Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce a charitable contribution of $23,000 to two organizations close to the hearts of our cooperative family. The ALS Association is the first of those, supporting, assisting, and caring for victims of Lou Gehrig's disease.
Winter Weather Alert
WINTER STORM UPDATE Sunday, Jan. 25: Thank you, Mid-Carolina members, for being prepared and staying weather-aware this weekend. While the storm did not bring the level of impacts expected in our area, parts of the region are affected, and we remain vigilant as we continue to monitor conditions closely. Mid-Carolina plans to return to normal hours and schedules on Monday. Stay tuned for any updates, and as always, please stay safe!
Peak Alert: Temperatures in the teens expected overnight
Prepare for extreme cold overnight, Mid-Carolina members! Temperatures are expected to drop into the teens, which can increase demand on the electric grid—especially during on-peak hours (6 a.m. – 9 a.m.), when families are getting ready for the day ahead and heating systems are working their hardest. Here are a few simple ways to help manage energy use and keep costs in check: ✅ Avoid using multiple large appliances during on-peak hours ✅ If you have a programmable thermostat, set it and keep it steady ✅ Use a water heater timer to help limit water heating during on-peak hours As your cooperative, Mid-Carolina is committed to providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective power during extreme weather and all year round.
