Want to apply for service online? Here’s how.

  1. Enter your address below in the map feature to confirm you are eligible for service from Mid-Carolina. If your address is in the green shaded area, we are your service provider. All other areas are served by another electric utility.
  2. Complete the service application below.
  3. Upload a copy of your government-issued identification.
  4. Answer the follow-up call from Mid-Carolina Member Services once our representatives have reviewed your application.

Required Documents

  • US driver’s license or ID card
  • Social Security Number or US-issued Tax ID Number
  • Other acceptable forms of US government-issued identification: passport, permanent resident alien card, Green Card or immigrant visa

Things to Note

  • To submit an online application, you must provide all requested information. If any required fields are left blank, you will not be able to complete the process.
  • A deposit or membership and/or other applicable fees may apply. Click here for a current list of provided services and applicable fees.
  • You will be required to upload a copy of your government-issued identification document.
  • An application must be completed for every meter that needs service.
  • Applications will be reviewed during normal business hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am 5 pm, excluding holidays. We will then contact you by phone to complete the application process. Applications received on weekends, holidays or after business hours will be reviewed on the next business day. To start same-day service, applications received after 12 pm will be subject to an after-hours connection fee. If you wish to receive same-day service after 12 pm, please call our office at (803) 749-6400
  • A credit check is required for all new applications. If you do not wish to have a credit check obtained through Experian, please call (803) 749-6400.

Service for New Construction

To obtain service for a new structure, proper county permits and inspections are required. The procedure for obtaining temporary service, such as for new construction, is the same as applying for new service. A county inspection may be required in other instances as well.
