Thank you, Mid-Carolina members, for being prepared and staying weather-aware this weekend. While the storm did not bring the level of impacts expected in our area, parts of the region are affected, and we remain vigilant as we continue to monitor conditions closely.

WINTER WEATHER PREPAREDNESS
It's always a good idea to be ready! Here are a few tips to prepare you for the impacts of winter storms:
- Monitor the weather closely
- The best way to manage a weather emergency is to plan ahead and follow guidance from emergency management officials.
- Practice generator safety
- Portable generators can pose serious risks to your household—and to lineworkers—if not used properly. See safety tips on our website.
- Stay away from downed power lines
- Always assume any power line is energized and dangerous, even if power is out in your area.
- Report outages quickly
- The easiest way to report an outage is through TextPower. To register, text “MCEC” to 803-749-6555. After registration, text “OUT” to 803-749-6555 to report an outage.
You can also call 888-813-7000 or 803-749-6444. - Stay informed: Follow us on social media for updates and check the MCEC outage map for system-wide updates: bit.ly/MCECOutageMap
