In recent years, our service area has seen an explosion of residential, industrial and commercial development. Excellent primary and secondary schools, world-class golfing and recreation facilities on Lake Murray and easy access to all the metropolitan amenities our state capital has to offer allow our members to mingle the best of both the urban and suburban ways of life.

Mid-Carolina Electric distributes electricity in Lexington, Richland, Saluda, Aiken and Newberry counties. MCEC is primarily an urban cooperative, comprised of 88% single family dwellings, and 12% commercial and industrial facilities.
