MCEC to Inspect Some Home Water Heater/AC Switches Mid-Carolina Electric, in a continuing effort to provide affordable and efficient electricity, will be checking the load management/H20 switches on the equipment of a number of member-owners. The inspections will help MCEC ensure that these switches, which allow the co-op to control water heaters and air conditioners during times of peak usage, are functioning properly. MCEC has sent 400 letters to member-owners informing them of the audit. And of those 400 members, 116 will be contacted soon to schedule an inspection appointment by EnerVision, an independent research firmed hired to conduct the field audits. EnerVision and MCEC understand that your time is valuable and will work with you to make sure these inspections are as convenient as possible. The switches are normally located next to the water heater or air conditioning compressor and require only about 10-15 minutes of testing. The audits are scheduled to begin about the second week of October and run through EnerVision will have two field auditors testing the switches. They will be identified with an MCEC contractor picture ID and their vehicles will have MCEC contractor signage. MCEC thanks you for your cooperation and participation. With your help, we will continue providing affordable, reliable and efficient electricity for years to come. Please contact MCEC's Marketing Department at 749-6555 or |
