Touchstone Energy Scholarships

For its 17th consecutive year, Mid Carolina Electric Cooperative (MCEC) is offering its Touchstone Energy scholarships to high school seniors within its service area. The scholarship is open to any senior attending the following high schools: Irmo, Dutch Fork, Chapin, Saluda, Batesburg/Leesville, Lexington, White Knoll, Pelion, Gilbert and Airport. The scholarship is also made available to any in-state student whose primary residence receives electricity from MCEC.

Seven $1,000 scholarships are given by Mid-Carolina Electric to students in local school districts who are exceptional examples of "The Spirit of Cooperation", a deeply-ingrained value and driving force within the Touchstone Energy brand. Special consideration is given to need, extracurricular activities, community involvement, recommendations and the students’ personal analysis. Since 1990, over 90 scholarships have been awarded to students who fit these criteria, exhibit a positive attitude, and possess a good reputation within their respective communities.

Applications may be obtained through guidance counselors at each of the participating high schools. They are also available online at www.mcecoop.com. The deadline for application submittal is March 16th.
